This is my running journal. I'm going to track my progress from now until I actually keep running and don't stop because there are way more interesting things to do. And actually run a race. Eventually. I'm gonna do it. Really. I am.

Staying Alive

I keep reading and hearing about super healthy people who die while running marathons. I know someone who knew someone really well (and super-healthy) who just dropped dead of a heart attack at the end of a recent marathon.

So, in the spirit of trying to stay alive for the Husband and the Baby, I am not going to run a marathon anymore.

However, a HALF-marathon is not out of the question, and seems do-able in my mind.

I am writing my goal down for running: run and finish the SLC Half-Marathon in April. If I don't write this down, I will never keep myself accountable. I want to run 2 5ks and a 10k before I take on the endeavor.

Thank you, Cristina for giving me motivation. Also, thank you, Baby, for putting my body out of shape and giving me even MORE motivation to run.

Tawnie is my best friend and I love her and we're awesome.

I just got off the phone with my best friend Tawnie Soelberg McCaa. I love talking to her-- it always brightens my day.

I am moving home in April to finish the last part of my college degree-- THE INTERNSHIP. And Tawnie and I are going to train for a half-marathon!! I'm gonna do it!! I really am!! I am so excited!! I love my life!!

First item of business: find a half-marathon in Southern California in July or August...

Gym Rat

I go to the gym about 5 times a week. There is no way I'm going to run in 20 degree weather and snow. And I found a yoga class to go to 2 times a week and I love it! And I feel really good about myself.

That's about it for now.

And I'm NOT running a marathon this year...

New Goal

My roommate/best friend Brittany and I have decided that whenever we get the impulse to shop, we will go work out instead.

And if we do this, let me tell you, we are going to be in the best shape of our lives in less than 2 weeks.

And people don't believe us that we are going to do this, but it's TRUE! (Take THAT, Eric!)

NO MORE SHOPPING!!

I have enough clothes. I HAVE enough clothes. I have ENOUGH clothes. I have enough CLOTHES.

Live Your Life

My friend Jessica is on the cross country team at BYU and runs 8-10 miles a DAY. She is my running idol. I want to do that. Or at least work up to running 3-5 miles a DAY. Right now, I run 3-2-2-break-3-5 on M-Tu-W-Th-F-Sa. That's only 15 miles a WEEK. I want to run at least 20 miles a week. I can do better. I will do better.
